Marriage Roles

Who assigns the roles for a man and woman in a marriage? Is it society or the husband and wife? Who says that a man cannot take on the roles that are traditional for a woman? Or that a woman cannot take on the roles of the man? In marriage it should be 50/50, it is a partnership; there is no leader or follower. A man who takes care of the house hold is an excellent, true, wonderful, amazing man who cares for his family no matter what roles are given to him by society. Society cannot take care of his family the way he can and if he has to take care of the house than he will in order to see his wife happy upon her return from business trips. The wife is taking on the role of a husband by always going on business trips. The husband reassures her not to worry about home and to do her job well. Is this marriage role "wrong"? No because who says that a man cannot take the roles traditional for a woman. The marriage is stronger than the ones that have the "traditional" roles of husband and wife because they love each other for the person they are and not for the roles they play. 11-11-10
